My Online singing competition experience.
I was very excited as our school was going to host an online
inter-school music competition. After a week of thinking, I had finally decided
on the song I would sing along with which I would also play my ukulele. I had
registered myself and started practising for the competition.
The day finally arrived when I was ready with my ukulele and
joined the competition meeting. As I entered the meeting, I saw that there were
many participants from various schools. Everyone had different instruments like
guitars, drums, keyboard, flute and were also looking quite confident. I was
feeling a bit nervous but luckily, I had my whole family seated near me, to
encourage and support me. The event started with a brief introduction of the
judges and a short speech from the principal.
The competition started and the first performer sang
melodiously. The following performances were also good. Some of the contestants
sang while others played a beautiful tune with their instrument. The moment
finally arrived when my name was announced. I glanced at the encouraging faces
of my family members and with a deep breath, started singing. I closed my eyes
as I sang and just went with the flow of the music. As soon as I finished, I
saw many joyful and awed faces followed by cheers and claps. I sighed in relief
as I sang just the way I had practised. On seeing the response after my
performance, I felt that I had a fair chance to win the competition.
All the other performances were done and the moment finally
arrived when the judges were ready with their decision. My heart was pounding
and everyone in the meeting was sitting with their fingers crossed. The judges
cried out my name in chorus and a big smile of joy spread across my face. There
were claps and cheers and my family gave me a big hug. In the evening we had a
grand party, celebrating my victory and I was feeling like the happiest child
in the world.
